A Home for the Brave

Keystone, Bank of America and the National Community Stabilization Trust (NCST) partnered to donate a newly renovated home to retired Army Sgt. Bobby Smith and his family.

Bobby and his wife Lisa were presented with keys to their new home during a ceremony on Nov. 7. The ceremony brought together a wide range of guests including family and friends, neighbors, Polk County officials, Bank of America representatives and Keystone’s housing development partners who donated supplies and services.

The wide spread support for Bobby and his family was unbelievable. The City of Lakeland Fire Department came in a fire engine adorned with the American flag. Also, more than a dozen members of the Patriot Guard Riders attended the ceremony to show their support. Florida Southern College ROTC welcomed the Smith family with the presentation of the colors followed by the national anthem performed by a local singer.

Guests took their seats as the speeches began on stage. The speakers represented organizations including Bank of America, Keystone, National Community Stabilization Trust (NCST) and Polk County Board of Commissioners. After the speeches, the Smith family entered their home for the first time.

We are honored and privileged for the opportunity to help veterans through our HEROES program.
